‘Seat side pocket’ storage concept for Saab

  • Under: Cars

I was taking notes in one of the test Saabs at the design departement when a dropped my pen and it fell between the seat and the centre console. At first I was annoyed since you can’t get your hand all the way down to get it. But then I remembered my own judo-method and turned this area into a place to store your personal electronics.

This resulted in the Seat side pocket, which works similar as the pocket of your pants. When entering the vehicle you simply drop your stuff between the seat and the centre console and they fall into the Seat side pocket. When you want to use one of your devices you can blindly feel where it is and grab it, while keeping your eyes on the road. Also all wires can be stored out of side but easy to grab. When you get out of the car, you simply scoop all of your belongings out of the seat side pocket in one movement.

Simply store, connect and grab your devices.

The long shape of the pocket allows usage by both short and tall drivers.
